The Night Circus arrives without warning. There's a fiery competition between two magic users, Celia and Marco, who have been training since they were children for a game they do not know the rules to. The circus is the setting for this game.
I really did enjoy The Night Circus. I think as a debut, Erin Morgenstern delivered a fantastic, whimsical story that is so enchanting you don't want to leave. However, I have a lot of issues with this book. One of those issues being that this was not my first attempt at reading The Night Circus. It's a tough book to get through and the beginning is really slow. The writing is very flowery and was tough for me to read at times. The characters have a really interesting development and as the book came to a close I felt very attached to them, and yet still felt like I hadn't gotten much from them. Still, a fantastic story, and I would recommend this book to teens who are fans of classic gothic stories specifically, but I think The Night Circus could be enjoyable to anyone.
