The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black

“He will be the destruction of the crown and the ruination of the throne.”

Jude has become the Queen of Nothing, losing everything when she is exiled from Elfhame by the High King Cardan after marrying him and becoming High Queen. She lives with Vivi and Oak in the human world while taking odd jobs dealing with faeries that have wandered into the human realms. After Taryn comes to ask for her help Jude returns to Elfhame even though she risks death and confronting her feelings for Cardan. Elfhame is not the same when she returns and war is coming. Deep behind the enemy lines disguised as her twin, she becomes ensnared in the politics of the growing conflict. And when a dormant and powerful curse is unleashed on the land she must make the hardest decisions of her life.

The final book in Holly Black’s Folk of Air series is a thrilling and perfect completion to the trilogy. Jude and Cardan’s growth throughout the book was incredible and beautiful. The plot starts immediately and moves quickly, but is easy to follow. You’ll stay up all night to finish it. Jude is faced with incredibly hard decisions about her mortality and the fate of her family and Elfhame. There were some loose ends in the story but overall an amazing ending.
