This is the sixth installment of Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. The Baudelaire orphans have been chased out of their past three guardians by Count Olaf, an evil man who will do anything to get their fortune, and are now being adopted by Jeremy and Esmé Squalor. But Count Olaf has no shortage of disguises and greedy schemes to secure the fortune.
I have absolutely no complaints about this book. The plot twists were executed amazingly, and they were portrayed in a way where they were easy to keep up with. The book deserves 5 stars. Not to mention the creativity of Lemony Snicket's writing. The book, though it revolves around an unfortunate plot, is written in a way where it is still an enjoyable read.
The expanding plot of VFD and the mystery of the Baudelaire fire keeps the book in your mind, constantly trying to figure out the mystery of the series.
If you want to read this book, you should read the five other books in the series: The Bad Beginning, The Reptile Room, The Wide Window, The Miserable Mill and The Austere Academy, all written by Lemony Snicket.
