The Vile Village by Lemony Snicket

This is the seventh installment of Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events. The three Baudelaire orphans are once again sent to a new guardian, or in this case, a guardian village, in hopes of staying protected from Count Olaf, an evil man who will do anything to get the Baudelaire fortune.

This book deserves 5 stars. I loved the themes, especially the ones that are more heavily applied in this book. The siblings have to come to terms, now more than before, that they have to find safety on their own, without the help of a guardian. I like the turn that this book takes from the past six books, and the change in execution of plot.

If you want to read this book, you should read the six other books in the series before this one: The Bad Beginning, The Reptile Room, The Wide Window, The Miserable Mill, The Austere Academy and The Ersatz Elevator.
