Love & Olives by Jenna Evans Welch

This book is one of the best books I’ve ever read. I absolutely loved the plot, the characters and the atmosphere throughout the book. One thing about this book and how it stood out from the others I’ve read is the uniqueness of relationships from one character to another.

This book is a contemporary romance set in Greece, where Olive (Liv) had to unexpectedly visit her dad who abandoned her when she was eight. Liv arrives on the island of Santorini with pain and anger for her father. But arriving at the airport she meets one of her dad’s assistants, Theo. Theo makes a great screen for Liv and her father to prevent any awkwardness. Along the trip, she realizes that the reason her dad left her was for a much deeper purpose and to protect the family. Liv began to uncover the truth which helps her family and future in a whole new perspective.

Jenna Evans Welch wrote this book with such elusive details of the plot and Liv’s emotions. The tone of the book is very light and fresh-like. But I do think that there were some times where Liv was too self-absorbed and stubborn to adapt to the changes in Greece.

In spite of those parts, this book was such a nice read to read in the winter. It does make me want to go back to Greece as well.

If you liked this book, read the two other books which the author wrote: Love and Gelato and then Love and Luck. Do keep in mind that this book is not in any way related to those two books. Love & Gelato kind of connects to Love & Luck as well.
