This book was one touched with perfection, glossed with romanced and encrypted with a beautiful love story anyone wished they had.
A girl name Fallon, one who is covered in scars from an accident, meets an author-to-be, Ben, who helps Fallon stand up to her dad. But they fall in love at the wrong time. Fallon is to move across the country to the next day, and so they decide to meet at a spot every year on (you probably guessed it) November 9.
I really liked the separate character building and the events that took place in their lives separately with the two POVs, while the reader can experience and envision what the two people are doing at the time. I also really, really loved the overall plot of the story and the concept of meeting up once a year. I feel like it is something that you wish would happen in real life, and Colleen Hoover takes you on the journey of experiencing it, even though most of the events just seem too coincidental.
The reason why I didn’t give it full marks was because first of all, I feel like it was really quick. I mean seven years in a book shouldn't be around 300 pages or so. A lot of the time, everything felt rushed and had barely any true meaning to the overall story or even plot. Secondly, it was really cheesy in some parts. I couldn’t stand it. And lastly, I was really tired of the author giving the main girl characters self-confidence issues and in this book, it is the scars. In almost every book I’ve read by her, it's been the same.
But overall, these cons of the book just slightly chip off the rating and are outweighed the pros because the plot of the book covers it up. Now my favourite Hoover book, I would definitely recommend you to read it!
