Fiction book
The Battle of Labyrinth is the fourth instalment in the Percy Jackson series. After discovering an entrance to the infamous Labyrinth, Annabeth must lead her very first quest through the dangerous maze. The safety and future of Camp Half-Blood depends on her success.
If it weren’t for this one issue with the plot near the end of the book (Annabeth apparently hadn’t told Percy the last line of the prophecy until the last day of camp, which struck me as strange because they had several weeks where the conversation realistically would’ve occurred earlier), this book would’ve seriously gotten a 5/5. The action scenes were written so vividly (especially the final battle), and the love drama between Annabeth, Percy and Rachel, the tension and high stakes; these were all executed perfectly.
If you’re a teen who likes the adventure or fantasy genres of fiction, then this book, or rather the Percy Jackson series, is a must-read. The Titan’s Curse, The Sea of Monsters, and The Lightning Thief are all of the books you must read beforehand in the series. Fans of Harry Potter or Artemis Fowl or other works of Riordan will also enjoy this series.
If you enjoyed this book, you’ll also enjoy the Magnus Chase and Kane Chronicles series, which are like this series except that instead of Greek Gods, they’re about Asgardian and Egyptian gods (respectively). The Lorien Legacies, also known as the I Am Number Four series, is also another good collection of fantasy adventures.
