The Ride of a Lifetime by Robert Allen Iger

Nonfiction book

The Ride of a Lifetime is the biography and journal of Robert “Bob” Iger’s professional life, starting at ABC and rising to the top and then going on to become the CEO of Disney and acquiring companies such as 21st Century Fox, Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm.

I really enjoyed this book because I was constantly on my toes, asking myself questions such as “Is this person going to get promoted? Fired? Acquired?” It was a very suspenseful book, which isn’t a word I thought I would use to describe a leadership book. I always had he urge to keep on reading and reading.

I would definitely recommend this book, but not to everyone. Even though the author makes the business world a lot more comprehensible for the average person, there are still some people I wouldn’t recommend this book to. Those who have absolutely no interest and knowledge of business likely won’t be able to finish this book, but otherwise, I would recommend this book to aspiring leaders and regular teens for an informative and entertaining read. You really only need to know the basics of business to be able to understand this book.

For more productivity books, I would recommend Why We Sleep by Matthew Walker, and for more business books, I would recommend Good Economics for Hard Times by Abhijt V. Banerjee and Esther Duflo.
