Renegades is a futuristic book in which superheroes exist. Some people are born with powers, some are not. There is an elite force of these powered people called the Renegades. The story follows two characters, one being a renegade and the son of two of the leaders. The other is a “villain” and the niece of the most infamous criminal in the city. When their paths start to cross, they both start to question what defines good and evil, and if society is better off with or without super-human powers and the Renegades. 

This is the first book of the Renegades trilogy and it gives you a really good introduction to the world. You can easily see that the story will progress and grow. The two main characters work together so well, and I loved how the side characters also have so much personality. 

I would recommend this book to young adult readers who love action-packed books with a lot of interesting characters. This book is very similar to many superhero movies and if you like movies from Marvel or DC, this book is for you. If you liked this book, I would recommend the Divergent series by Veronica Roth.
