“I don’t hold a grudge. I cradle it. I coddle it. I feed it fine cuts of meat and send it to the best schools. I nurture my grudges, Rollins.”
The Crows have pulled off the most daring heist in history. No one believed they could pull it off let alone survive, but now instead of splitting their reward they’re back to fighting for their lives. They are low on supplies and badly weakened, Nina is still suffering from the effects of taking jurda parem, the deadly magic drug. They’ve been double crossed and are low on allies but must continue to work together if they have any hope of surviving. Forces from around the world are coming to Ketterdam to try and steal the drug from the Crows. The fate of the work will be decided by a war with the gang members in Ketterdam’s dark twisting streets. Old enemies and new arrivals test the fragile loyalties of Kaz’s crew and if they’re going to survive this they’ll need to come up with the most daring plan in history.
Leigh Bardugo’s Crooked Kingdom is a thrilling addition to her Grisha Verse books. You’ll be on the edge of your seat the whole time as you try to figure out Kaz’s next move. There are so many plot twists and surprises so if you're a fan of suspense you’ll love this book. There are also several romantic plots as well which are extremely well executed and so fun to read. I loved the way Bardugo builds suspense and you never know what’s going to happen next till the very end. There is a plot of different complex plot lines but she does an amazing job of weaving them together and making sure it’s not confusing. There is a lot of amazing character growth that makes you love the characters even more as well. Over all it’s a really amazing read that will make you laugh, cry, and gasp in shock.
If you enjoyed this book try Leigh Bardugo’s other Grisha Verse Duology King of Scars or Dance of Theives by Mary E. Pearson.
