Pride and Prejudice DVD

Elizabeth Bennet, a 20-year-old living in Hertfordshire, England, is the second eldest of the five Bennet sisters. This movie follows Elizabeth’s life as her parents pressure her and her sisters to get married. One night while she’s at a ball, she finds herself in a disagreement with a wealthy man all the other girls at the ball have their eyes on. As the days go by, Elizabeth finds her sisters slowly falling in love and getting married, while she is stuck trying to avoid the wealthy man who seems to be everywhere and keeps getting more and more irritating.

The light-coloured dresses, the hairstyles, the dialect, and the scenery in this film are all very accurate for the time period. I enjoyed getting to know the Bennet family’s distinct personalities, and the filming style was great. If you enjoy movies set in the 19th century with strong female leads, I highly recommend you watch the movie Little Women.
