Some Girls Do by Jennifer Dugan

Ruby is forced to live out her mother's dream of becoming Miss America when all she really wants to do is work at the mechanic’s shop and repair cars. Morgan is forced to transfer to another school after her private Catholic school found out she was a lesbian. After a very awkward encounter of Ruby almost hitting Morgan with her car, the two feel drawn to each other, athough Ruby is too afraid to admit it in case her mother finds out.  Morgan does not want a repeat of her last relationship.

When reading the book, I found the writer did not give the characters a great introduction, which caused them to be two dimensional and the plot was very predictable. Overall it was a good read but if you are looking for a queer book with a better plot, I would recommend Red White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston.
