Once upon a time, there lived a beautiful but selfish and unkind prince. One night he decided to throw a ball, all was going as planned until an unexpected intruder arrived seeking shelter from the storm. She offered him a rose as a gift, but he was repelled by her ungraceful appearance and tried to send her away. She told him not to be deceived by appearances and decided to teach him a lesson, she placed a spell on the castle and turned the prince into a horrid beast. She also left the prince with her enchanted rose and told the prince, that if he could learn to love another and earn their love in return by the time the last petal fell, the spell would be broken. If the spell was not broken, he was doomed to stay a beast for all of eternity. Years later a peculiar girl finds her way into the castle and the beast and his servants realize she is their only hope of breaking the curse, but how will she ever learn to love a beast?
I’m no film buff but I must say the cinematography was amazing and the beast’s castle was also absolutely gorgeous. I couldn’t help but think about how much I would love to live there. I think casting Emma Watson as the main character, Belle, was a smart decision and she and all the rest of the cast fit their roles perfectly. I also like how the screenwriters delivered context to the characters’ lives using catchy songs. No matter how many times I see the talking candlesticks and singing wardrobes, this movie never fails to entertain me.
