The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary

Tiffany “Tiffy” Moore is desperate to find a flat to move into after her boyfriend started making her pay rent. Lucky for her, Leon Twomey is desperate to make some extra money to pay his brother’s lawyer so she answers his ad for a flatshare. Since Leon works the night shift he’s gone during the day and on weekends he stays with his girlfriend. Tiffy only ever works day shifts and stays home on the weekends, which means the two will never meet in person. But of course, they need to communicate somehow, and so they leave each other post-it notes with any info they think the other might need to know. As the months go on, the notes go from small things like telling each other what dinner is, to bigger things like family stories and secrets. All seems to be going great for the two of them, Tiffy is happy she found somewhere to live, and Leon is happy he can care for his brother, but will that change when they finally bump into each other?

I thoroughly enjoy this book’s plot and I think it is really neat how the author got the idea from personal experience. Tiffy and Leon are the furthest things from two-dimensional, and their friends and people they encounter are written wonderfully. This book is from the adult’s section so it is more suitable for people ages 15 and up. If you like romance books with interesting plots like this one, I recommend you read the book Today Tonight Tomorrow by Rachel Lynn Solomon.
