On April 14, 2017, Kendrick Lamar released his 4th studio album DAMN. With 14 tracks, the album is an amazing, cohesive listen from front to back. Kendrick Lamar is one of the most critically acclaimed artists of all time and DAMN. only highlights why. There is not a single song on DAMN. that’s skippable as it is incredible in production and Kendrick’s storytelling throughout. good kid m.A.A.d City (2012) along with To Pimp a Butterfly (2015) are known as one of the greatest hip hop albums of the 2010s decade and all time. DAMN. matches the quality of these two classic albums. My personal favourite track, PRIDE. is a song seeing Kendrick rap about his own pride. The production is also outstanding on this song. DNA. and DUCKWORTH. are other songs I really enjoy on DAMN. Kendrick’s quick flows on DNA. and his masterful storytelling on DUCKWORTH. are clear highlights in the tracklist. Although these are my favourite songs in the album, I love every song on DAMN. I highly recommend listening to DAMN. and believe it is a must listen for any hip hop fan.
