A Grimm Warning by Chris Colfer

“Conner laughed at his own prediction. “And I’d just be trying to survive Algebra, not an army of thousands.”

The portal between the land of stories and the real world has been sealed and Conner and Alex are each leading their own lives. Alex is training to be the next Fairy Godmother with her Grandmother but it’s not quite going as planned. Her wishes never quite seem to turn out and she's worried she’ll never quite be ready to lead the fairy council. Conner thinks his adventures in the fairy tale world are over, that is until he is invited on a school trip to Germany to listen to stories from the brother’s Grimm time capsule. One of the stories is a grave warning for the land of stories and only Conner can warn them about it. With the help from his classmate Bree and Mother Goose, Conner sets off across Europe to solve the 200 year old puzzle. The land of stories is in grave danger and Alex and Conner must team up with friends and enemies alike if they have any hope of saving everyone they know and love.

The third instalment of Chris Colfer’s Land of Stories Series is a thrilling and fast paced book. Alex and Conner are now separated so it switches back and forth from their stories. I really liked this book as it has more history and magic. Alex is learning magic from her grandmother and learning about the history of the land of stories. You also get to see her friendships grow with the characters in the land of stories. Conner is still in school and we get to see him really find out who he is, he starts to settle into school and find his passions. I loved reading about his trip to Germany as they explore all the history and learn about the brothers Grimm. This book has some big twists and the plot starts to incorporate into the overall plot that goes throughout the rest of the books. If you like the first two books and you’re a fan of classic literature and history this is the books for you.
