“What if every story ever told was just a realm waiting to be discovered? Perhaps happiness isn’t the only thing you were meant to provide keys for.”
The Masked Man is loose in the land of stories but no one will believe that he is dangerous. It’s up to Alex and Conner to stop him, but Alex has been thrown off the fairy council and they have no one to help them. With only the help of their friends Goldilocks, Red Riding Hood, Jack, and Mother Goose, the twins start tracking down the Masked Man. They finally discover his secret: he has discovered how to turn every book into a portal. He has made a potion that allows him to enter whichever story he chooses, and he’s using it to raise an army of the greatest villains in literature. Alex and Conner chase him through some of the most famous literary works, The Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, and more. They must find the Masked Man before he creates his army but will they be able to catch him in time?
Beyond the Kingdoms is the 4th book in Chris Colfer’s Land of Stories series. This book is amazing for fans of classic literature as it follows Alex and Conner through multiple works of classic literature. Colfer’s world building is amazing and there is so much detail as they travel to the different places in each separate book. It’s really fun to read about the characters from the land of stories interacting with the characters from classic literature. If you enjoyed the other books in this series and classic literature this book is for you.
