Pokemon Violet is a breath of fresh air for the Pokemon series. It brings a whole load of new features and pokemon to the table, making it a really fun experience for both new pokemon fans and old pokemon fans alike. Like previous pokemon games, the main differences are the pokemon you encounter in the games. The biggest change compared to previous pokemon games is that you can explore the region and tackle the story in whatever order you like, it makes for a unique experience everytime you go back to replay the game since you can do things in a different order every playthrough. Another big change is that gym battles and the pokemon league are not the only story quest for you to do.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have three different story paths for you to play through, those being Starfall Street, Victory Road, and Path of Legends, each with their own interesting characters and plotlines. Starfall Street has you focusing on taking down team star by raiding their bases and fighting off grunts until the boss of the base appears.Victory Road is your standard pokemon story in which you travel across the region to fight the gyms, with the ultimate goal of becoming a champion. In Path of legends you are on the hunt for special herbs called herba mystica, which has amazing healing properties and helps regain the power of the legendary pokemon Miraidon who accompanies you on your adventure. That’s right, the legendary pokemon joins you very early on in the game, but you can’t use it in battle because it was injured when you found it, so instead it helps you traverse the lands by changing into a vehicle-like form. This game also has pretty good co-op features - it allows you to join the world of your friend, even if they are playing pokemon scarlet instead of violet, and you can take on raids together to catch powerful pokemon. Overall, it’s a great game that I think most people can enjoy, whether you’re a hardcore pokemon fan or not.
