Narrated from four points of view, this edgy fast-paced political thriller set in a contemporary Middle Eastern country teetering on the brink of military dictatorship is well worth reading. Bleeds sneaks up on you swiftly and unforgettably. Father-son dictators battle each other, with a supposedly trusted cabinet, surrounding advisers, and violently disaffected citizens in a fictional country that seems to only want greedy uranium deposits. This book is very timely, considering globalization, governance, and what you can and can't believe as a citizen... a troubling but essential read.
