Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson

For the past two years it has always been Emily and Sloane, Sloane and Emily, best friends, until Sloane suddenly disappears leaving one of her bizarre lists of 13 things for Emily to do. Convinced that the list will lead her to her friend Emily with the help of her new friends Dawn, Frank, and Collins, they set out to cross each task off the list. Some of them are easy, like apple picking at night, whereas others are harder, like kissing a stranger. Along the way she'll meet new people, try new things, and step out of her comfort zone as she tries to figure out who she is without her best friend who never left her side.

Since You’ve Been Gone was a fun and heartwarming read. It had strong positive messages on friendships, seizing the moment, and being yourself. The flashbacks throughout the book showed Emily’s character growth in an interesting way. I enjoyed this book, the characters were all relatable, it was well written, and the plot was entertaining. Fans of Morgan Matson’s Second Chance Summer and Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour would like this book.
