This book is an excellent delve into the troubled mind of someone struggling with mental health issues without support or understanding of what may be wrong. The mood of this book is very dark and depressing. Hummingbird tells the story of a man named Felix. He lives alone (at least, at first, he seems to). He spends too much time on the internet visiting live porn sites, and becomes enamored of one woman in particular. Things get creepy, but only up to a point, and then they get confusing. Felix wakes up one day to find himself with a girlfriend he doesn’t remember, no cigarettes in his pocket, also without desire for a cigarette, and no memory of how to interact with the computer.
