The Language of Thorns: Midnight Tales and Dangerous Magic by Leigh Bardugo

Leigh Bardugo's collection “The Language of Thorns: Midnight Tales and Dangerous Magic” is set in the universe of the Grisha trilogy. A fresh set of people is introduced in each story, and while they are all unique, they are all very fascinating. The world-building in this book is amazing; each story is set in a different region of the Grishaverse, and Bardugo describes each of these settings in great detail. It’s definitely a must-read for fans of the Grishaverse, but even those who are unfamiliar with this universe will find a lot to like in these slightly spooky and enchanting stories. These stories have a refreshing twist because they aren't overly predictable with a cliche happily-ever-after ending for each fairytale and instead have many dark and unexpected turns, so I think individuals who like the fairy-tale storytelling style will particularly enjoy them. Overall, I highly recommend this book as it was quite an enjoyable read.
