Age of Uprising is a 18A historical drama that tells the story of a horse trader named Michael Kolhaas who seeks justice and revenge on a local nobleman who wronged him. the movie takes place in medieval France and has many mature themes, violence and is not suitable for younger audiences.

The cast plays their roles well with an incredible performance from Mikkelsen who captures the essence of the character perfectly with the supporting characters also helping to bring together the whole movies atmosphere together in medieval France. the audio and visual effects also work well with the narrative making use of a gritty atmosphere with dark monotone colours and a slower storyline, which in accompany with the audio effects, makes the themes and world of the movie all the more prevalent.

It was a well crafted story with good performances however the slower pace of the movie made it slightly more boring to watch; however, if your interested in character driven historical dramas, this moive might interest you.
