The Austere Academy by Lemony Snicket is the fifth novel in the series "A Series of Unfortunate Events" and follows the story of the Baudelaire siblings as they're enrolled in a harsh and unpleasant boarding school known as the Austere Academy, which has weirdly strict rules. The siblings encounter a number of challenges while in this place, including a twisted secret society and severe punishments, all while trying to escape the evil clutches of the very determined Count Olaf.
This is the book where we’re introduced to the Quagmire triplets who are quite like the Baudelaire siblings in many ways. There were quite a few plot twists in this book and dark humour which contrasted greatly with the awful circumstances the Baudelaire siblings encountered. I like how Sunny’s teeth came in handy at the most random times. Overall, this was a good book that I’d recommend to fans of the “A Series of Unfortunate Events" series as well as those who enjoy genres of adventure, mystery, and a bit of dark comedy.
