Aristotle Kyrkos, or Ari, is finally done with high school and is ready to take the world by surprise! He’s tired of working in his family bakery, and wants to enter the music industry with his friends. The only thing is, his dad isn’t having any of it, and still needs Ari to work in the bakery so they can pay their rent. That’s when Ari gets the idea to place flyers around town so that someone can replace him, and after a while, a young baker named Hector is hired. But soon, as plans change, Ari realizes that he’s happy just where he is.
Bloom is a relatable slice-of-life journey of adult life, friendship, and romance. The art is quite detailed, possesses a charming monochromatic colour scheme, and is chalk-full with big life choices, complex emotions, and everything to get the reader sucked into Ari's life and reflect on their own. Although this story features a male-to-male relationship, its varied themes allow anybody to relate to it.
