**SPOILER ALERT**
"The Slippery Slope" by Lemony Snicket is the tenth novel in the "A Series of Unfortunate Events" series and follows the Baudelaire siblings as they continue their adventures and this time end up in the Mortmain Mountains. The siblings travel the dangerous terrain of the mountain, confront Count Olaf, and forge new allies like with the Snow Scouts, a group of young people led by Bruce from “The reptile room.”
This story did feel a little drawn out at times and lacked the anticipation I felt while reading the previous book, for example. Nonetheless, there were well written characters and it does make you want to read the rest of the series. We did get to see a bit more of Quigley Quagmire, one of the quagmire triplets who was previously thought to be dead, but he actually dies this time after a horrible turn of events which further increases the emotional burden on the siblings. Overall, this book was alright and I’d recommend it to fans of the series.
