The Vile Village by Lemony Snicket

"The Vile Village" by Lemony Snicket is the seventh novel in the "A Series of Unfortunate Events" series and it follows the story of the Baudelaire siblings as they find themselves at a strange village with weird customs and residents who are obsessed with crows. The siblings find a way to decode messages and find out about the village’s secrets, form allies with the Quagmire triplets, and try to steer clear of Count Olaf’s evil schemes to capture them and their inheritance.

This book was fun! Reading about the siblings’ escapades as they worked together to outsmart Count Olaf, invent interesting contraptions, and decode secrets about the V.F.D was quite amusing. A theme of loyalty was shown in this book as the siblings formed new allies with another pair of siblings much like themselves. Overall, this was a good addition to the series that I’d recommend to fans of the series as well as those who like genres of mystery, dark humour, and adventure.
