Never After: The Thirteenth Fairy by Melissa De La Cruz

Something strange happens one day while Filomena is walking home from her favorite bookstore. She is being chased by Jack Stalker, one of the heroes in the book series Never After, which she cherishes. Something that definitely doesn't seem real. But Jack swears that he is real, that the stories are true, and that Filomena must arrive immediately! She quickly finds herself immersed in a world of unrealistic creatures, only found in the craziest of stories. She's now at the head of where an evil queen leads her army to wipe off the fairy tribes. Filomena must find the truth behind the story of the thirteenth fairy in order to preserve the kingdom before the cycle of disaster begins again, no matter how she does it.

I enjoyed this book because of the variety of characters and the way the author portrayed each character's strengths and weaknesses within the book. I would definitely recommend this book if you (a young teen) enjoy fairytales with a twist.

If you like this book, I would recommend reading Keeper of the Lost Cities, as it has a fairytale story and is directed to a similar age group.
