Not long after, she is taken by two women to a hidden school of magic for girls hours away from her home. That’s where Frances’ questions come to be answered, and she discovers that she’s a witch. She soon realizes that with great power comes great responsibility, and spends her time working on how to control outbursts and accidental magic use. The novel follows Frances’ attempt to use her magic to figure out what happened to her brother, unlock the secrets of her school, and discover what the world of magic that surrounds her is all about.
