Heartstopper, Volume 1 by Alice Oseman

Heartstopper, Volume 1 is the first of five LGBTQIA+ romance written by Alice Oseman. A cute Comic/graphic novel book you wont want to miss! Heartstopper follows Charlie Spring, a shy, loveable, openly gay boy and Nick Nelson, a soft-hearted, joyful rugby player. Charlie who was outed last year and was bullied for a few months, life is turning around for the better when he meets Nick. They quickly become friends and soon enough Charlie is falling for Nick, regardless of him thinking there's no chance with Nick. But who knows, maybe it will just happen to work out for them both.

This book explores the struggle of being outed, friendship, and love. This is a sweet coming of age story that you’ll fall in love with. Heartstopper is a fun, quick-paced, wholesome book you’ll love. This book is told in both Nick and Charlie's perspectives, and you can definitely see the character development from the start of the book to the end. Nick and Charlie grow a lot along the way and are very cute together! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a lighthearted, sweet, and wholesome graphic novel. It is easy to read and will keep you hooked! It does dabble in topics such as abusive relationships and brief references to homophobia and bullying. I highly recommend this book.  Its one of my favourite graphic novels.
