This is a young adult fantasy novel with an amazing story. Bone Crier’s Moon is a triple perspective following Ailesse, Bastien, and Sabine. Bone Criers are a society that ferry the spirits of the dead from preying on the living. But their power to ferry comes from sacrifice. The gods Elara and Tyrus demand a show of dedication, a bone criers one true love. Ailesse, the heir to the matriarch of the Bone Criers, has to complete her rite of passage and kill the boy she's bound to love. Bastiens father was killed by a bone crier and he has wanted revenge ever since. When he takes Ailesse captive, Sabine will do whatever it takes to rescue her.
Bone Crier’s Moon, the first of two books, has a romance doomed to fail and a wonderfully built world. The world development was truly amazing and you can see how the characters change near the end of the book. Bone Crier’s Moon has a magical sort of sense that I haven’t seen in any other young adult book. It is definitely on the younger side of young adult, but I still thought it was a good book. I would give this book a four out of five stars. It's a book I enjoyed, but it wasn't something that truly stood out to me.
