Rated M for Mature due to intense violence, blood, gore, strong language, and drug references

In a post-apocalyptic world overrun by zombies known as Freakers, we follow Deacon St. John, a drifter and bounty hunter navigating the dangerous wilderness of the Pacific Northwest. As Deacon uncovers the mystery behind the outbreak and confronts challenges from both human adversaries and the infected, Deacon must confront his past and make difficult choices to survive in this unforgiving world.

This is a single-player action-adventure game set in a post-apocalyptic open world filled with hordes of zombies. The game features intense combat, stealth mechanics, exploration, and a dynamic day-night cycle that affects gameplay. The game offers a balanced difficulty level, where players have the option to adjust the difficulty.

“Days Gone” offers a substantial gameplay experience, with a lengthy main storyline that’s around 35 hours with plenty of side missions and activities. While there were a lot of bugs and glitches at the start of the game's release, it has gotten a lot of patches and updates that fixed all the problems. The pacing is well-executed, with story sequences between levels adding depth and interest to the narrative.

The graphics are high quality and realistic, immersing players in the desolate landscapes and detailed environments of the post-apocalyptic world. The sound design enhances the atmosphere, with realistic environmental noises and chilling Freaker screams adding to the tension. Navigating the world is intuitive, with clear objectives and a map system to help players explore the open world. The controls are responsive and easy to grasp.

While the main storyline may not offer significant replay value, being an open world game makes it enjoyable to revisit for exploration and experimentation. The game features a save system that allows players to save their progress at any time and pick up where they left off. The game is very underrated, and I believe it is one of the best zombie survival games ever made.
