“A Court of Thorns and Roses” is a fantasy novel by Sarah J. Maas that begins when Feyre, a 19-year-old huntress, kills a wolf in the woods. As retribution, a terrifying creature takes her to the faerie land of Prythian. Amidst a mysterious curse and a new, dangerous land, Feyre must confront her own prejudices and desires to save the land she has come to love.

With a plot that is reminiscent of “The Hunger Games”, Maas weaves together danger, romance and a brave heroine in a complex high-fantasy realm. While the first half of the book is slower paced, it perfectly sets up the crazy, action-packed ending. This fantasy novel is a must read, especially if you’re planning to read the next instalment of the series which is even more spellbinding and entertaining.
