This fictional graphic novel centres around the life of seventh-grader Callie, who has a strong passion for theatre. During the preparation for her school’s production, Callie has to deal with boy drama and confusing friendships as well as her desire for a perfect performance.
Drama was a great read. The graphics were really good, the characters were funny, and the plot was entertaining. The story flowed very well, and the author did an excellent job of demonstrating the characters’ growth throughout it. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who’s interested in graphic novels, especially if you’re into dramatic arts.
If you enjoy this, and are looking for other graphic novels, I would suggest checking out Smile, Sisters, Guts, Ghosts, and The Baby Sitters Club series, all of which are also by Raina Telgemeier.
