Dante Russo, the owner of a multi-billion-dollar company, only cares about his organization until he finds himself in the hands of ruthless new money man Francis. He is forced to accept blackmail of an engagement to a woman he has barely seen or met. Vivan Lau is the daughter of the new-money man Francis and the founder of Lau Jewels. She is the companion Dante never wanted and the weakness he never saw coming. Her flaws and charms do not impress him; the only thing he wants to do is to destroy the blackmail and end the engagement as soon as possible. Ambitious, self-driven Vivan Lau is another perfect fit for her family's ticket entry to the highest rooms of society to deal with another unwanted and unexpected marriage that she greatly loathes. The Italian god everyone praises with black hair, brown eyes, and tall as a flag post is not Vivian's idea of a dream life or long marriage. She's forced to agree to their marriage, but not his sensitive touch that lingers on her skin that she craves.
The book reached the level of expectation (as always). I've read many books about arranged and unwanted marriages, but this! It spoke to me in many ways, like how Dante becomes distant when he realizes he's getting too attached to Vivan or when Vivan won't stop thinking about Him. It's an action-packed adventure, although there's not much of a plot. The book isn't long, but I wish it were! 409 pages ain't enough for me. I would recommend this book to someone who needs something captivating and spicy to light up their day.
