Looking for something good to read? At KFPL you can receive book recommendations from library staff via May We Suggest and from teenage volunteers via the Teen Review Board (TRB). The TRB is comprised of teens who love to read, watch movies, listen to music, and earn volunteer hours by reviewing library materials for KFPL’s website. This year we received more than 100 reviews from Kingston and Frontenac youth! Below are some of the highlights! For more information about the Teen Review Board, or, to volunteer, please visit this website.

The Song of Achilles, by Madeline Miller
As Tessy recalls, The Song of Achilles' "heart-wrenching finale made me cry in satisfaction when I finished it, begging for more pages."
The Lies of Locke Lamora, by Scott Lynch
Robert enjoyed The Lies of Locke Lamora "because it was, at long last, a book where the main character was more of an antagonist than a protagonist, and the story had a dynamic political element that I often struggle to find in other books."
The Handmaid's Tale, by Margaret Atwood
Clare read The Handmaid's Tale and thought, "The plot is wonderfully drawn out and perfectly paced. The ending is satisfying and perfectly suits the book."
Just Deserts, by Eric Walters
Asha thought that Just Deserts "would make a great choice for book report because you can write about how Ethan changes or about the lessons he learns."
Mort by Terry Pratchett
Mort was Robert's favourite Discworld novel so far. He "would recommend it and the rest of the series to anyone looking for a memorable, unique fantasy or Sci-Fi series."
The Martian, by Andy Weird
Rida "would genuinely recommend this novel to almost all readers but particularly those who love space exploration and lovers of the sci-fi genre."
NHL 18, for XBOX One
Zachary "thoroughly enjoyed playing NHL 18 and learning all of the new controls."
Crooked Kingdom, by Leah Bardugo
Jillian thought that author Leigh Bardugo "artfully tied together all of the ends needed but left certain elements open for the reader's imagination."
Save the Date, By Morgan Matson
Peja thought that "Save the Date is a wonderful, crazy, funny read that will keep you hooked until the very last word! Readers will laugh along with the Grant Family and cry with Charlie’s heartbreaks."
Renegades, by Marissa Meyer
Katie "would recommend this book to anyone who loves superheroes, conflict, and just a hint of deception on both sides of the playing field to pull everything together."
Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and Richard Levithan
Aiden thought, "Will Grayson, Will Grayson was an inspirational story that you won’t be able to put down. You can't help but get lost in the lives of Will Grayson and, of course, Will Grayson."
