When 10 year old Ruby Dally woke up the day after her birthday she knew something was wrong. Her parents didn’t know who she was and they called the police who took her to Thurmond, a government run rehabilitation centre for children who developed mysterious abilities after they survived a disease that killed many children. Six years later, Ruby has the most powerful and dangerous powers. When the truth comes out, she flees and ends up on the run in a van named Betty on her way to a safe haven for children like her, with her three new friends Chubs, Zu and Liam. But when they arrive, all seems off, especially their mysterious leader.
The Darkest Minds is a dystopian, sci-fi, superhero and action adventure movie based on The Darkest Minds book by Alexandra Bracken. The movie stars Amandla Stenberg as Ruby Dally, Mandy Moore as Cate, Harris Dickinson as Liam, Patrick Gibson as Clancy Grey, Skylan Brooks as Chubs and Milya Cech as Zu. The actors and actress were well casted. There were some differences between the movie and the book, as expected, but overall the movie was great and I would highly recommend it to fans of The Darkest Minds, Divergent, Maze Runners and Hunger Games movies or books.
