Are you an emerging or practising poet (ages 14 and up) who is interested in an hour's mentorship with Kingston Poet Laureate Jason Heroux? To apply for one of six mentorship sessions, please submit a sample of your poetry (5 to 12 pages) to poetlaureate@cityofkingston.ca by 5 p.m. on Monday, March 11. Please include your full name and contact information. (Those without an email account may submit a printout or typescript of their poetry at any branch of KFPL, to the attention of Poet Laureate Jason Heroux, c/o Isabel Turner Branch.)
These are the available timeslots for the six sessions:
- Tuesday, April 9 (at Central Branch) at 10 or 11 a.m.
- Friday, April 12 (at Calvin Park) at 2 or 3 p.m.
- Tuesday, April 23 (at Isabel Turner) at 10 or 11 a.m.
When submitting your poetry, please list which of the six sessions you'd be able to attend, ranked in order of your preference. Jason will review all the submissions and will schedule one-on-one meetings with six poets.
