Are you an emerging or practising poet (ages 14 and up) who is interested in an hour's mentorship with Kingston Poet Laureate Jason Heroux? To apply for one of six mentorship sessions, please submit a sample of your poetry (5 to 12 pages) to poetlaureate@cityofkingston.ca by 5 p.m. on Monday, November 4. Please include your full name and contact information. (Those without an email account may submit a printout or transcript of their verse at any branch of KFPL, marked to the attention of Poet Laureate Jason Heroux, c/o Isabel Turner Branch.)
These are the available timeslots for the six sessions:
- Monday, November 18 (at Calvin Park) at 6:45 p.m. or 7:45 p.m.
- Tuesday, November 19 (at Central Branch) at 2 p.m. or 3 p.m.
- Saturday, November 23 (at Isabel Turner) at 2 p.m. or 3 p.m.
When submitting your poetry, please list which of the six sessions you'd be able to attend, ranked in order of your preference. Jason will review all the submissions and will schedule one-on-one meetings with six poets.
Please note that because of the limited number of sessions available, these will be limited to those who have not previously had a one-on-one session with Jason.
