*Please note that this review may contain spoilers for the first two books in this trilogy, as We’ll Always Have Summer is the third and final installment.
Isabel Conklin has only ever loved two boys. Unfortunately, both of their last names are Fisher.
After being broken time and time again by her first love Conrad, Belly has finally been swept off her feet - by his younger brother Jeremiah. In retrospect, it all makes perfect sense. Jere has been her best friend for as long as she could remember, has always been able to make her laugh, and has the biggest heart out of everyone she’s ever known.
So though she’s only eighteen, when he proposes, she barely hesitates when saying yes.
Barely.
It seems there is a small part of her that will never seem to stop loving Conrad. She just wonders if the rest of her heart will be enough for Jeremiah.
I read this book ridiculously fast. Watching these characters grow up and become who they were meant to be is probably one of my favourite parts of this series. They’re still young, still flawed but they’re learning from their mistakes. They’re trying, and that’s all we can ever do. The storylines in this book are fantastic, and I love that we got to see it from multiple different perspectives.
Jenny Han truly outdid herself with this one, I highly recommend.
If this series intrigues you, I would recommend looking into Jenny Han’s other books, any of Morgan Matson’s novels and anything by Deb Caletti.
