All Quiet on the Western Front [DVD]

This movie is set in WWI. The movie follows three teenagers named Paul, Albert and Muller, who volunteered to become part of the German army. Once they reach the battlefield all their pride and bravery turn into fear as they face the brutality of what it’s really like in war. The actors are well cast, each character showing how fearful the front lines of battle were in WWI. The way the movie was scripted was good, some parts of the movie made it really stick out for me. For example, there was a scene in the movie where the three boys looked at the ones who hadn’t signed up to go to war and were cast out as chickens and had a feather planted onto them. They thought that war was a glorious thing since they were fighting for their country and the ones who didn’t sign up weren’t patriotic enough and were cowards. The story of this movie was amazing, I liked the fact that each character didn’t understand how war really was and how they got to know how gruesome it really was. The movie felt like there weren’t any storylines left untouched.
