Bad Words is a movie I would never, ever rewatch. This movie is supposedly rated PG-14 on the movie case, so I unknowingly ignored the problems that come with this movie, and I think R is a much more appropriate rating. Well, let me just say Bad Words is a very fitting name for the movie. More than half of the dialogue was bad words, and very vulgar words as well, not just your basic F-word (there was a lot of that too). Since the director played the lead role, and the only real plot was that a man (Guy Trilby) had entered a spelling bee, 90% of the movie felt like a director’s excuse to cuss in front of a camera. There was very minimal character development, with most of the development centering around the kid Guy befriended on his journey to become a champion. The movie felt very 2D. Another detail was the nudity in this movie, while very short, was still more than enough for the rating to be raised. Overall, this wasn’t even a movie. People cussing while Guy spits insults at every pair of eyes he locks on to isn’t really a source of entertainment for me. Would not recommend.
