Dearly beloved
we are gathered here to pay tribute to the lost
and found for existing together in the same bin.
We should also take a moment to thank
the brave shrimp
for carrying its heart around in its head.
Did you happen to see the morning sky
when it arrived bright blue and full of promise,
were you there when it grew up and got dark?
Thank you to everyone who wishes to rise up.
And to our shadows for flowing from us
like black lava through fractured crusts.
