Reflecting on the TRC’s Calls to Action: Ten Years Later – Live Webinar

Join us for a live-streamed webinar from the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation.

The webinar will reflect on the 10 years since the TRC’s 94 Calls to Action were released—what progress has been made, what remains and the challenges that persist. A facilitated group discussion will follow the screening.

Light snacks, tea and coffee will be provided. Feel free to bring your own lunch.

KFPL Live: Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority (RHRA)

The RHRA is committed to the protection and well-being of seniors living in retirement homes. It licenses and inspects these homes, monitoring their adherence to care and safety standards, responding to complaints, and closing homes not in compliance. Learn how the RHRA can help you make decisions about retirement living. Free to all adults, but seating is limited. To avoid disappointment, please register in advance:  online at calendar.kfpl.ca or by phone at (613) 549-8888. Thursday, January 23 at Calvin Park, 2 p.m. and Friday, January 24 at Isabel Turner, 2 p.m.  Both presentations will be the same.

Des conférenciers sans pareil seront invités pour chaque session de discussion, qui se dérouleront dans les langues officielles du Canada. Chaque discussion portera sur un thème particulier : la politique, la culture, la santé, la famille, la gastronomie, etc.

Guest speakers are invited to each session that will take place in both official languages to discuss topics that include: politics, culture, healthcare, family life, gastronomy, etc.

As the most valuable commodity in the world and an enormous source of wealth, petroleum is the lifeblood of modern economies. It involves both governments and corporations — and, inevitably, politics. International oil economist and local author John Foster will explain the role of petroleum in today's conflict zones.  Registration is now full for this talk, which is free to adults, so any additional registrants will be added to a waiting list.
