Freedom to Read Week

Freedom to read week. censorship, freedom of expression, access to information.

February 21 to 27 marks Freedom to Read Week in Canada. KFPL’s mission, vision and values outline our commitment to provide open and unrestricted access to information – sometimes controversial and difficult – so that you can select the information you feel is appropriate for you or your family.

Every year, libraries across Canada are asked to remove or restrict access to books for a variety of reasons. Explore the challenged books and events of 2019-2020, and our guiding principle of intellectual freedom, on the Freedom to Read Week website.
