Reflecting on the TRC’s Calls to Action: Ten Years Later – Live Webinar

Join us for a live-streamed webinar from the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation.

The webinar will reflect on the 10 years since the TRC’s 94 Calls to Action were released—what progress has been made, what remains and the challenges that persist. A facilitated group discussion will follow the screening.

Light snacks, tea and coffee will be provided. Feel free to bring your own lunch.

KFPL to Partner With Queen's Reads to Present "The Boy on the Beach" Discussion Group

KFPL is proud to announce a new partnership with Queen's Reads, the campus-wide reading program facilitated by the Student Engagement Office at Queen's University. KFPL will serve as a satellite location for Queen's Reads, making multiple copies of the book and discussion groups available to members of the Kingston and Frontenac community beyond Queen's University. Borrow The Boy on the Beach now in advance of our facilitated book discussion on February 5.

The Friends of the Library Create Space

New community space opening January 13!

Did you resolve to be more creative in the new year? Our new Create Space has what you need! The only limit is your imagination.

Drop in on Thursday, January 9, from 5:30 to 8:30 for an Open House and Art Hive to explore the equipment available.  Bookings for independent use during the week of January 13 will open on Saturday, January 4, at 9 a.m.

Save the Date for King Con 2020!

Kingston’s preeminent festival of comics, gaming, sci-fi, fantasy, and other exciting forms of fandoms will return to KFPL’s Central branch from Friday, April 3, to Sunday, April 5, 2020. Save the date for exciting guests and speakers, cool workshops, loads of gaming, and the return of our riveting Kosplay Contest! At this point, we invite applications from local artists and artisans who are interested in participating in our vendors' fair, as well as expressions of interest from those who feel they can offer an event-appropriate talk, workshop, or demonstration.
